Come and be my exceedingly great reward You're the treasure that I would give my whole life for What would it profit me to gain the world but lose my soul? I know my life is not my own
JUJUR Music & Lyric: Sidney Mohede @2019 Insight Unlimited
Verse 1:
Jujur kadang ku tak sanggup /
Honestly, sometimes I don't know how Menghadapi s’mua bebanku /
To face all my burdens Menantikan jawaban / To keep waiting for answers Menolak untuk menyerah / While refusing to give up
Ku tau Kau Tuhan yang sanggup /
I know You are God who is able Menolong dalam sesakku /
To help me in my struggles Namun meskipun Kau belum /
But even if You don't help me yet Kukan tetap menyembah-Mu /
I will still be here to worship You
Chorus:
Ku kan bernyanyi /
I will keep singing Sampai jiwaku percaya / Until my soul believes Sampai
hatiku mendengar / Until my heart hears Lagu Pengharapan /
A song of hope Ku kan berserah / I will surrender Kutau aku tak sendiri / For I know I am not alone Kuyakin Kau mengasihiku / I am convinced that You love me Bahkan di dalam api pun / So even in the fire Kukan
menyembah-Mu / I am here to worship You
Verse 2:
Jujur
kadang aku lalai / Honestly, sometimes I forget Bersandar pada
kekuatan-Mu / To lean on Your strength alone Di dalam kelemahanku
/ I know in my weakness Sempurnalah kuasa-Mu /
Your strength is made perfect
Imanku memegang janji-Mu /
My faith keeps holding on to Your promises Kutau Kau s’lalu
bersamaku / For I know You are always with me Dalam s’tiap
perkaraku / In every situation Kaulah damai tenangku /
You are my peace and my comfort
Chorus:
Ku
kan bernyanyi / I will keep singing Sampai jiwaku percaya /
Until my soul believes Sampai hatiku mendengar /
Until my heart hears Lagu Pengharapan / A song of hope Kutau Kau sanggup / I know You are able Dan aku tak pernah
sendiri / And I know I am never alone Selalu baik Kau di hidupku /
You are always good in my life Bahkan di dalam api pun /
So even in the fire Kukan menyembah-Mu /
I am here to worship You

In line with songs for my Amok mood board, this is one of those which never made the list because it came out after I was mostly done writing it.

Reminder!
Ebook prices are set to go up to $4.99 / RM20 this Thursday. If you haven't
purchased your copy of Amok yet, you should do so now!
Okay, so this song came up, and I was like, "I didn't know people still sang it."
And someone said, "Yea, all the kids think it's a new song. They don't know how to do the hey! hey! hey!"
... and then later, I'm thinking waitaminute... that version is the remake. THE ORIGINAL DOESN'T HAVE THAT.
This falls in the high school era, where I remember learning/introducing the song in the basement of Chong Nam Theatre.
Walking around these walls I thought by now they'd fall But You have never failed me yet Waiting for change to come Knowing the battle's won For You have never failed me yet
Your promise still stands Great is Your faithfulness, faithfulness I'm still in Your hands This is my confidence, You've never failed me yet
I know the night won't last Your Word will come to pass My heart will sing Your praise again Jesus, You're still enough Keep me within Your love My heart will sing Your praise again
Your promise still stands Great is Your faithfulness, faithfulness I'm still in Your hands This is my confidence, You never failed I've seen You move, come move the mountains And I believe, I'll see You do it again You made a way, where there was no way And I believe, I'll see You do it again
I will trust Here in the mystery I will trust In you completely
Awake my soul to sing With your breath in me I will worship You taught my feet to dance Upon disappointment and I I will worship

I've been rethinking my approach to this blog and what I want it to be. I've been blogging for roughly 17 years now, which is like half my life (I DID NOT JUST SAY THAT), starting at the now-defunct tabulas (ah, good times) and then switching over here to blogger sometime in 2011 (I maintained dual blogs for different things for a while).
That said, I'll probably not be continuing #musicmonday on a regular basis, mostly because I find myself listening to the same songs over and over so there's nothing really new to post. I keep going "hey, I really like this song" and then find that I've already posted it.
I will, however, try to actually blog more regularly with updates about my life and my writing process, and the weird things I think about.
One of the things I miss is doing my weekly #fireplace posts, though that's not something I really plan to resurrect. That was supposed to be replaced with the narratives tag, but that didn't work out either, because I didn't have a schedule to hold myself to. As much as I am a free-wheeling creative type, I need deadlines and schedules to get things done. Honestly!
All this blathering just to say that I'll try to blog more this year, and we'll see how long that lasts. I'm also tempted to do #teatuesdays which is this random thing I thought up over breakfast because I was like, eh, I have new tea I haven't talked about yet and I like the alliteration. (AAAAANNNND twitter search tells me it's a thing! hahaha)
And I should get back to my assignment that's due next week. HAH.
(Which I'm procrastinating by writing this blog, formatting the last three NutMags for ebook and planning for next year's NutMag 5th anniversary special. Also I finished watching season 1 of American Gods, which is like the first series I've watched in... years.)
